The Apprentice TV reality show has become one of the biggest hits on television and The Apprentice TV show formula of business and humour with a certain style, is a combination that makes other TV reality shows like Big Brother look decidedly downmarket.

The much anticipated UK The Apprentice 2008 started on Wednesday 28th.March 2008( Series 4).

Wednesday 2 April - "Do you think it costs a fiver to launder a pillowcase?" You were sitting at home asking yourselves how could the girls come up with the price of £4.99 to launder individual items of hotel laundry- and thinking has anyone of these characters got any grasp of the simple realities of life.Sir Alan had a hard task here as the rules are that only one Apprentice is fired at a time -and in the real world he would have thrown out a whole bunch at once. Shazia..your fired! ....aah the beat goes on.

Wednesday 28 March -I am delighted that we got it right tonight as the first Apprentice to get the "boot" was Nicholas De Lacy Brown -who exhibited an expertise in putting a noose around his own neck, and pulling it tight. Viewers around the UK were probably jumping with joy when this supercilious, arrogant individual was subjected to Sir Alan Sugar’s classic line.. your fired!

The Apprentice Series 3 started on the 28th.March 2007. This time The Apprentice was on BBC 1, where the previous The Apprentice Series 1 and Series 2 were on BBC 2. As in the previous Apprentice series Sir Alan Sugar was back dishing out the tasks, and it was reported that some of the potential apprentices were spotted in London Zoo wearing gorilla suits, so this series sounded promising. We were warned to expect more difficult tasks for the apprentice candidates, and as usual it was interesting to see who was in the line-up in 2007.

Sir Alan Sugar challenged a new group of 16 high-fliers  to demonstrate their skills in The Apprentice BBC 1 reality TV  business series. Over 10,000 aspiring  hopefuls auditioned for a place on The Apprentice show for 2007.
Aged between 22 and 36, the short listed candidates included; a quantum physicist , two  car salesmen, an ex-Army officer, a global brand consultant, a former air traffic controller, a financial advisor, a martial arts expert and a  waiter who was a bankrupted ”would be” entrepreneur.
The punishing weekly programme of challenges will saw the teams having to sell British farm produce at a French farmers' market, design accessories for dogs, create a new brand of trainers, sell art photography at a trendy gallery, produce sweets to sell at London Zoo and compete with the likes of Starbucks and Costa to sell the most coffee on a busy high street.
After seeing an advanced preview of the new series, it appears that Sir Alan has lost none of his ability to deliver stinging put downs -"This is no gameshow; there won't be some busty blonde waiting outside to hug you so that you can sob into her bosoms. What there will be is a black cab waiting to take you to the station."

22 July 2006 BBC Apprentice winner Michelle Dewberry is pregnant by her reality show rival Syed Ahmed. Michelle is expecting following an on-off relationship with Syed, who she beat to the prize of a job with tycoon Sir Alan Sugar. Michelle Dewberry 26, is thought to be up to three months pregnant. Last night a source close to her revealed: “Michelle is stunned, this was definitely not in her plan for the future. She has worked so hard to get this job.” Syed, 31, is said to have vowed to stand by Michelle “come what may”. Michelle, famed for her ice cool temperament during The Apprentice, fell pregnant during a reunion with Bangladesh-born Syed. Syed, who describes himself as a “business bad boy”, was recently caught drink-driving for a fourth time — while already banned. Syed escaped a jail term after admitting he was depressed by his troubles on The Apprentice and the news his mother had got cancer

Monday 6 May 2006 – Only 2 days to go and we will know who will be Sir Alan Sugar’s “The Apprentice” for 2006 on BBC 2 TV The Apprentice show. I initially had "The Badger” down to go head to head with Paul Tulip in the final and I had Ruth Badger as the eventual winner. I was surprised that Michelle Dewberry has ended up as The Apprentice finalist prepared to go head to head with the female equivalent of Mike Tyson in his prime. Michelle Dewberry and Ruth Badger only have two obvious things in common and that’s age - Michelle is 26 and Ruth is 28. If Sir Alan Sugar is looking for an apprentice who is aesthetically pleasing he will probably pick Michelle, but if he needs a “pile-driver “ of a sales person Ruth should take the honours.

What could affect the outcome is the disclosures in the tabloid press about Apprentice Ruth Badger as she has apparently “outed” herself as a lesbian and there is no love lost between her and her soon to be ex-husband. Ruth will probably have plenty of UK lesbians cheering for her on Wednesday, and she will then be well on her way to become an icon for the female gay community who want to succeed in the business world. When it comes to selling Ruth gets stuck right in and makes the sale - irrespective of the product - and she has the natural sales persons ability to start closing the sale as soon as possible by looking for quick closing opportunities all the way through the sales pitch.

Michelle Dewberry is apparently dating Syed Ahmed ” I am from the Eastend of London and I know the value of money” Syed Ahmed was the reason many viewers compulsively watched the The Apprentice week after week as they loved to cringe at the latest Syed gaffs - ” I am from the Eastend of London and I know the value of money- but where the **** is Wandsworth Bridge?” The news is that Syed Ahmed and Michelle go public with their affair by sharing a kiss in the final Apprentice episode – Syed may not know where Wandsworth Bridge is but he knows where to stick his tongue!
